In order to support the fight against pollution, promote the coordinated development of pollution reduction and carbon emission reduction, accelerate the promotion and application of advanced and applicable ecological environmental protection technology achievements, and enhance the green and low-carbon development level of the ecological environmental protection industry, the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry has carried out the promotion work of practical technologies, equipment, and demonstration projects for ecological environmental protection in 2023. After recommendation, formal review, and expert evaluation, the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry announced the "2023 Catalog of Practical Technologies, Equipment, and Demonstration Projects for Ecological Environmental Protection" on December 11, 2023. GCL Composite Vertical Barrier Technology addresses a series of challenges such as the controlled vertical placement of GCL, material overlap, and corner construction. It combines with low-permeability walls to form a composite anti-seepage structure. The low-permeability wall initially blocks and adsorbs contaminants, providing an external environment for the GCL to exert its excellent anti-seepage performance. The GCL, in turn, enhances the overall anti-seepage level with its superior performance. By incorporating GCL into the composite anti-seepage structure, this technology effectively resolves issues found in single-layer vertical barrier technologies, such as leakage at connections and low wall impermeability. It is highly suitable for applications in environmental protection and other fields with high anti-seepage requirements.
