After many years of operation in the reservoir area, there are a number of environmental and safety hazards, which are in urgent need of rectification. The main contents of the project include: anti-seepage upgrading of the return pool; Repair and construction of flood control and intercepting facilities in reservoir areas; Slope collapse area solidification; Reservoir slope safety protection; Sedimentation and displacement monitoring in reservoir area. Among them, in the anti-seepage upgrading project of the return pool, the vertical barrier of GCL is set downstream of the return pool to further block the liquid seepage of the return pool, and at the same time, it plays the role of stabilizing the dam body downstream.




GCL vertical anti-seepage technical parameters

1. The underground natural impervious layer is determined to be the moderately weathered mudstone layer with a permeability coefficient of 2.0×10-6cm/s -- 7.0×10-7cm/s. The bottom of GCL is inserted into the moderately weathered mudstone layer of 3.0m, and the wall depth is about 13~24 m.

2. The design of MC-GCL meets the requirements of the Technical Specification for Vertical Barrier of Industrial Contaminated Sites (HG/T 20715-2020);

3. Wall backfill material cement-bentonite, thickness 600mm;

4. Wall permeability coefficient is less than 1×10-7cm/s;

5. The overlap width of MC-GCL composite component is ≥45cm.
